IMPORTANT NOTES


JOB DESCRIPTION
Please explain as fully as possible ie: 32 page A4 brochure. Supplied A3, folded to A4, stapled. Front cover, Inside cover, Back cover and Inside back cover printed in Full Colour, the remainder black.

NUMBER OF PAGES
The total number of pages in the document to be printed.

NUMBER OF COLOURS
A normal ‘Full Colour’ job would be 4 ink colours - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK).
A ‘Spot Colour’ job would be 2 or more ink colours ie: Black and Reflex Blue
A ‘Black’ job would be black ink only.

SPECIAL COLOURS
Normally Special Colours are used on Full Colour jobs to enhance. Eg: silver or gold could be used, or perhaps a Varnish could be applied to give a shiny effect.

FILM REQUIRED
Film is required in order to transfer your job onto printing plates. Some customers prefer to use a local output bureau so that they are able to do a final check.

PAPER WEIGHT REQUIRED
There is a vast choice of paper weights to choose from. IF YOU ARE UNSURE leave this blank. We will then base the quote on a suitable paper for the job in question.

TYPE OF PAPER REQUIRED
There is a vast choice of paper types to choose from. Please supply us with the paper type if you know it. LEAVE THIS BLANK ONLY IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA. We will then base the quote on a suitable paper for the job in question.

AMOUNT REQUIRED
YOU MUST FILL THIS IN. We will not be able to process your quote without this information.

CUTTING GUIDE
A cutting guide is used to cut the final printed job to a special shape, or to indicate flaps for presentation folders.
A cutting guide is normally supplied with the job on a separate page in a spot/pantone colour.

METHOD OF SUPPLY
This is how you are going to send your job to us ie: by Email, ISDN, post etc.
When sending on disk please indicate the type ie: 100mb or 250mb Zip disk or by CD.

PROGRAMS YOU HAVE USED TO PRODUCE YOUR DOCUMENT
Please indicate programs used for your layout ie: PageMaker, Quark Express, Corel Draw etc, (also include version number used eg:Quarkv4)
Please indicate if file is Mac or PC.

FONTS
Please ensure you have embedded fonts or supply them with the file.

THINGS TO REMEMBER !!!
1. Ensue that all your photographs/bitmaps etc are CMYK for full colour printing. Most scanners use RGB format to scan and if left unchanged only a partial image is produced when output to film.
Change black and white photographs/bitmaps to Greyscale.
2. Send all electronic pictures with the job.
3. Always send a proof of the job with your disks.
4. Do not use unusual plugins in your program. These may effect film output.
